Part of John’s South Island Majesty series of paintings. The collection features a series of paintings of the spectacular landscape of New Zealand’s South Island. “Through these paintings I aim to celebrate my deep connection with the South Island mountain ranges which I have been visiting for over 25 years.”
The West Coast (Māori: Te Tai Poutini) is a region of New Zealand on the west coast of the South Island, one of the more remote and most sparsely populated areas of the country. The area is known for its stunning scenery, with wild coastlines, mountains and lush native bush, much of it native temperate rain forest. It is the only part of New Zealand where significant tracts of lowland forest remain. The region has been included in the “Top 10 Coastal Drives of the World” by Lonely Planet.
