Newcastle’s Own. Oil on canvas, 90 x 60 cm, 2004. This very popular scene captures once again, 3801 bringing the Newcastle express down past Mullet Creek in the Hawkesbury. I’ve added the couple in the boat as an additional directing element and for scale. The painting was created for an exhibition of paintings of Newcastle’s history. Together with another seven paintings they were reproduced as prints and promoted and sold by the Newcastle Herald and Morpeth Gallery together with my book ”A journey through time”.
