A Wet Evening – Katoomba. 2005. It’s a wet and chilly evening in Katoomba. Set around the turn of the century (1900) loco 2514 has just pulled into the station and a number of people have gathered under the shelter of the station’s awning getting ready to board. I felt the lights and their reflections created a degree of warmth in an otherwise somewhat grey evening. The 25 class locomotives were used on the Blue Mountains line from the 1880s until the early 1900s often running tender first for additional traction.
