Painting Skills You Will Learn
- Follow John as he breaks the painting process into easy to follow chunks. Some sections are run in fast forward so you can follow them easily and then rewind and play in slow speed if you need to see even more detail
- He will show and describe what brushes, knives and other tools he uses to create different effects in different areas of the painting
- The process starts with a full description of the colour pallet to use and the layout of the drawing including perspective.
- Every aspect of the scene is covered from painting the old Queenslander house to the old paling fence, to the beautiful jacaranda and bougainvillea flowering trees and shrubs.
- You will see brushwork up close to see how John creates specific details of the boards on the house, the latticework timbers under the house, the branches and flowers of the trees, the old fence palings, and how to use a young boy playing with a dog to give the painting more interest.
- Follow John builds up the painting from the drawing to the final touches.
